As a seventh-generation Texan, IAC founder Jessica Brit Ingle is passionate about bolstering the Texas art scene in all its forms, whether that be promoting the work of Texas artists and galleries, building and maintaining the collections of Texas art collectors, or supporting Texas art institutions and non-profits. She has worked for over fifteen years in various arenas throughout the Texas art scene, including major museums, galleries, and private collections. As such, she has a keen understanding of Texas art institutions and their collections and can draw upon a strong network of art professionals throughout the state.
Jessica's academic research also centers on Texas art, and she is one of the very few art historians specializing in the topic. She is currently working on a dissertation, titled Reframing Texas Art: Women Photographers in the Lone Star State, that surveys Texas women photographers throughout the history of the medium in the state. She aims to publish this research as one book in a four-book series on women in the Texas art scene.
In 2017, Jessica founded Texas Vignette, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to supporting, promoting, and connecting women in the Texas art scene. To accomplish this mission, Texas Vignette offers a slate of free monthly programming in the DFW
local women's achievements in the arts and create networking opportunities for women in the Texas art scene. Texas Vignette's largest initiative, however, is the Vignette Art Fair. This submission-based fair works with a different curator each year to make selections and curate the fair in an exhibition-style setting where all artworks are for sale and artists receive 100% of all sale profits.
